Choosing golf clubs

It’s great to have friends who know more about golf than you do. They are happy to help you choose your Golf Clubs and golf balls, and are always ready to help you improve your game.

Your choice of Golf Clubs is personal, and even though it’s a good idea to take advice from experienced players, ultimately it is you who will be using them, so choose a set of clubs that you feel comfortable with. Starter golf sets are ideal for new players. It means you can buy the whole set for a reasonable sum, and if you like the game; you can always upgrade later. If you’re a serious player, look at the professional grade golf clubs; where there is a good choice of brands and clubs.

There is lots of information online about what to look for when you’re buying golf clubs. So check out the facts, before you decide which clubs you want. You can choose from drivers, irons, putters, woods Wedges and the newer utility clubs in a good choice of brands. Once you’ve started playing the game, you will develop a preference for specific clubs.

Try out as many golf clubs as necessary before you buy. Stores are quite willing to let you try them. They usually have a small area where you can have a practice. Once you’ve chosen your clubs look at the Golf Balls and accessories, and select the things you need to play the game on the golf course. You will also need to look at golf clothes.

There are lots of golf courses where you can practice your golf, but if you are a complete novice, it’s a good idea to have a few lessons before you start. Book a course as soon as you have your new golf clubs, so you can learn how to play and familiarise yourself with the rules. Once you’ve had a couple of lessons, you’ll know whether you want to book more professional lessons, or if you’d prefer to play with friends.

Golf is a social hobby and there are lots of opportunities to enter competitions and to get involved in social events. If you don’t like helping to organise events, just go along and have fun. Either way you’ll need a set of golf clubs to start you off.
